Join RenLUG for a Brick Renaissance℠ event – a celebration of LEGO® Art and Innovation

Apart from our monthly gatherings, RenLUG aims to organize at least one extra event each month. All our events are accessible to the public unless specified otherwise. However, space is limited. Kindly pre-register for events at least one month in advance using the RSVP form provided below. Pre-registration helps us ensure adequate supplies are available. Many of these events are FREE. Should an event entail a materials fee or any other payment, we will send you a Paypal invoice accordingly.

Monthly Meetings are highlighted in BLUE and cater to AFOLS, older teens are also encouraged to participate. RenLUG also organizes public events suitable for all ages, delineated in BLACK. These events are created and run by RenLUG members. Some are tailored for children, while others are specifically for adults only. The majority of RenLUG events are not drop-off events, please plan on attending with your child. PURPLE events denote occasions where RenLUG members are attending or participating in some fashion, but are not organized by our group.

Please be sure to save any event photos you wish to keep, as they are removed from the website every month or so.

January

• Monday, January 1st – QUARTERLY BUSINESS MEETING, adult members only
• Sunday, January 28th - International LEGO® Day (the day LEGO® patent was filed) – Join RenLUG for a free build day at the library. Suitable for all ages with LEGO® and DUPLO® build tables. Free. All ages welcome.

February

• Monday, February 5th – MONTHLY MEETING
• Monday, February 19th – E-Week event #1 with RenLUG – Our annual creative city building collaborative workshop. Building a microscale LEGO “Micropolis”. Adults & Teens only please.
• Friday, February 23rd – E-Week event #2 with RenLUG – Great Ball Contraptions. Free. Adults only please. HelFreeze Castle, limited spots, registration required.

March

• Saturday, March 2nd – Can you build a cat? Can you build a hat? Join us, join us, if you can. Fun Dr Seuss themed build challenges. Please bring a book to donate to children’s literacy programs. All ages welcome.
• Monday, March 4th – MONTHLY MEETING
• Friday, March 8th – International Women’s Day Build & Brunch – we will be making LEGO® quilt blocks based on the 6×6 standard set by Women’s Brick Initiative and our own larger 16×16 standard. Free. Adults & older Teens only please.
• Saturday, March 16th – Orlando Brick Convention followed by dinner afterwards. If you are not displaying, recommend purchasing tickets for session II and joining us for dinner afterwards.
• Sunday, March 17th – Orlando Brick Convention followed by dinner afterwards. If you are not displaying, recommend purchasing tickets for session II and joining us for dinner afterwards.
• Tuesday, March 19th – LEGO® Day at Breaking Point Martial Arts Spring Camp, included with camp fees.
• Saturday, March 23rd – Orlando Brick Co Buying Event. We’ll grab a bite to eat afterwards at Victorio’s Oyster Bar.
• Monday, March 25th – Spring / Easter themed LEGO® build and cupcakes – materials fee $5.00 for this make and take project. Suitable for ages 8+, younger is ok with an involved parent. Adults attending with kids, but not completing their own project are free, but need to register as seats are limited.

April

• Monday, April 1st – QUARTERLY BUSINESS MEETING, adult members only`
• Thursday, April 4th – Thursday Movie Night at Dees Brothers Brewery. in Sanford. Showing The LEGO Movie. Movie Munchies Menu available starting at 7pm.
• Saturday, April 6th – Bricks & Minifigs Mount Dora Buying Event. We’ll grab a bite to eat afterwards at Millers Ale House.
• Saturday, April 27th – Kids Build-A-Gift and Movie to inspire today’s dreamers and tomorrow’s future engineers - make & take LEGO® project for mom or other special person in your life. Held at University of Central Florida, Harris Engineering Center (HEC). Suitable for ages 8+, younger is ok with an involved parent. $25.00 per kid participant, includes all project materials. Adults attending with kids, but not completing their own project are free, but need to register as seats are limited. (ASCE members, please check your newsletter for special discount and registration link. Do not use this link).

May

• Saturday, May 4th – Star Wars Day with RenLUG. Join us to help complete a Star Wars themed mosaic and see Star Wars themed builds by club members. Suitable for all ages. Free.
• Monday, May 6th – MONTHLY MEETING
• Saturday, May 18th – Bricks & Minifigs Orlando South Buying Event. Meet up with RenLUG members who are not attending at Universal CityWalk afterwards.
• Sunday, May 26th – RenLUG at AEO Studios
• Wednesday, May 29th (morning) – LEGO® & STEM Day at Breaking Point Martial Arts Summer Camp, included with camp fees.
• Wednesday, May 29th (afternoon) – Bricks & Minifigs Preview Event at WT Bland Public Library in Mt Dora. We’ll grab a bite to eat afterwards, probably at Millers Ale House.
• Thursday, May 30th – National Creativity Day with RenLUG at AEO Studios

June

• Saturday, June 1st – Orlando Brick Co Grand Opening followed by lunch/dinner after, food location TBD.

• Tuesday, June 11th – International Day of Play / World Play Day – Potluck & Playbrick in the Park event. Join us at Secret Lake Park in Casselberry. All ages welcome. Bring a dish to share. Drinks provided.
• Wednesday, June 12th – LEGO® & STEM Day at Breaking Point Martial Arts Summer Camp, included with camp fees.
• June 14th – Father’s Day Build & Brunch – make & take project and lunch. Suitable for ages 7-18 w/ parent – $25.00.
• Wednesday, June 19th – LEGO® & STEM Day at Breaking Point Martial Arts Summer Camp, included with camp fees.

• Friday, August 2nd – School Supply Drive and LEGO® Free Build at the warehouse with LEGO displays by RenLUG club members. Help RenLUG help local kids, bring donations of school supplies and enjoy free build time. Suitable for all ages. Free.

• Saturday, August 17th (night) – Micropolis Day. Celebrating the standard that was first introduced by TwinLUG in 2008. Build modules for a microscale LEGO “Micropolis”. Adults & Teens only please.

• Saturday, September 14th -Lego Display at Enchanted Knights Renaissance Faire. Oviedo
• Thursday, September 19th – Talk Like a Pirate Day. Pirate themed display at The Cabin.
• Saturday, September 21st – Learn about Robotics with RenLUG. Best for ages 9-14. Free.

October

• Monday, October 7th – QUARTERLY BUSINESS MEETING, adult members only
• Wednesday, October 9th – Leif Erikson Day – Viking Display (Hurricane Milton may impact this event).
• Saturday, October 12th – Minifigs & Monsters D&D Night at the Orchard House – limited to 10 players, adults only (full)
• Thursday, October 17th – Donation Drop Off to Boys & Girls Club
• Sunday, October 20th – Rock Springs Ridge Fall Festival – Come see RenLUGs Halloween themed display and participate in a Spooky Mosaic Project! Suitable for all ages.
• Saturday, October 26th – Young Professionals After Dark at Orlando Science Center (scouting)

November

• Saturday, November 2nd – Orlando Science Center Community Partner Showcase – Come out and see RenLUG displays & kids activities, plus all the other OSC Community Partners
• Monday, November 4th – MONTHLY MEETING – we’ll be building our new Lego Derby Track and its storage boxes. Bring tools!
• Saturday, November 9th – Maker Faire Orlando 2024 (scouting, some members are volunteering)
• Sunday, November 10th – Maker Faire Orlando 2024 (scouting, some members are volunteering).
• Thursday, November 14th – Free Build Food Drive – Come build with RenLUG and help fill local food pantries. Bring a non-perishable item to play! All ages welcome!
• Saturday, November 16th – Lego Display at Enchanted Holiday Bazaar -Oviedo Mall

December

• Sunday, December 1st – Come see RenLUGs winter themed display. Holiday toy drive. Please bring a new unwrapped toy for a child in need. All ages welcome!
• Monday, December 2nd – MONTHLY MEETING – practice Lego Derby Track, bring your pre-built cars or build one here.
• Saturday, December 7th – Orlando Science Center Community Partner Showcase – Come out and see RenLUG displays & kids activities, including a #BuildToGive event, plus all the other OSC Community Partners
• Sunday, December 8th – RenLUG Holiday Party. Adults only.
• Saturday, December 21st – RenLUG’s Annual Bricktastic Holiday Stroll, Start at the Disney Springs LEGO Store and embark on an unscripted journey through festive holiday displays at Disney resorts and nearby attractions—where the group picks the stops along the way!
• Tuesday, December 24th – Merry Brickmas: RenLUG’s Holiday Toy Drop – Our annual toy delivery event. Lego sets, MOC kits and other toys will be delivered to at least 50 kids in each of the three counties RenLUG is active in today.
