RenLUG is an approved Certifying Organization (CO) for the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) — a prestigious national honor recognizing individuals who demonstrate a sustained commitment to community service over a 12-month period. Established in 2003, the PVSA is one of the most recognized volunteer recognition programs in the United States.
As a PVSA Certifying Organization, RenLUG is authorized to verify and submit volunteer hours on behalf of our members and community volunteers, and to award Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Lifetime Achievement designations to qualifying individuals each year.
RenLUG is deeply committed to fostering a culture of volunteerism and community engagement. The Presidential Service Awards honor RenLUG members who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to service and community engagement throughout their RenLUG membership. These awards recognize individuals who have gone above and beyond in contributing their time, skills, and efforts toward making a positive impact on their communities.
As a certifying organization for the Presidential Volunteer Service Awards, RenLUG takes pride in recognizing and celebrating the dedication and contributions of individuals who give their time and talents to make a difference. Our members are passionate about supporting meaningful initiatives, whether through hands-on activities, educational programs, or collaborations with local organizations. By emphasizing the value of service, RenLUG inspires volunteers to lead by example and empowers them to create a lasting impact within the Central Florida community and beyond.

How Volunteer Hours Are Tracked at RenLUG
RenLUG makes hour tracking straightforward. Every RenLUG event has a designated event organizer whose responsibilities include recording volunteer hours for all participants at that event and submitting them to RenLUG. This means volunteers don’t need to track or report their own hours — as long as you show up and serve, your organizer has you covered.
PVSA Award Levels
RenLUG uses the calendar year January 1 – December 31 for recording volunteer hours. Awards are determined by the age category the volunteer held for at least seven months within that calendar year. Age category is determined by the age the volunteer held for at least seven months within the 12-month period — for example, if a volunteer was 16 for seven months of the year, they qualify within the 16–25 age group.
