RenLUG – Central Florida’s LEGO® User Group

An inclusive adult LEGO® community for serious builders, creators, and collaborators inspiring builders since 2019.

RenLUG brings Adult Fans of LEGO® (AFOLs) together to build, learn, and share — from personal MOCs to large-scale collaborative creations, public exhibitions, hands-on STEM programs for kids and families, and community partnerships across Central Florida.

Wherever we can, RenLUG puts bricks in people’s hands — not just on display. Our Play Brick Build Zone lets visitors free build or tackle creative challenges, while Royal Rally Racing has kids — and more than a few adults — designing and racing their own LEGO® gravity cars.

RenLUG serves the greater Orlando metro region — core membership in Seminole, Orange & Lake Counties, with programs and events spanning nine counties and 9,500+ square miles across Central Florida. See our full service area →

Micropolis Standards

RenLUG uses these standards to assure all our microscale city modules work together.

  • Scale: 1 brick height = 9 feet, 1 stud wide = 7.5 feet
  • 16×16 MODIFIED MILS plate, with the bottom layer being PLATE, rather than baseplate and the 1×4 bricks & 1×4 technic bricks in reverse locations. The pattern for one edge will be 2×2, 1×4, 1×4 technic, 1×4, 2×2 – all in dbg, to facilitate bulk purchase pricing with parts also used in our standard MILS plates. The inside should look like the picture. The black filler bricks can be any color, but the outside edges should be dbg for consistency.
  • City Block – average size is 32×32 (FOUR 16×16 microscale city modules make up one block).
  • Roads – black tiles 2 studs wide covering 2 adjacent edges. 1×2 tiles are commonly used for this, but any combination works. A mid block only module will have a road along one edge only. When joined with another module, this makes a 4 stud wide road.
  • Alleyways – can be used on the 2 opposite sides from the road. Alleyways are 1 stud wide and dbg.
  • Vehicles: cars 1×2, trucks, buses & larger vehicles 1×4
  • Crosswalks – 1×2 white tile placed 4 studs from the corner
  • Sidewalks – sidewalks are placed adjacent to roads and are made of lbg tiles
  • Parking lots use dbg tiles.
