RenLUG Central Florida LEGO® User Group is an AFOL community that creates hands-on programs that connect LEGO® building, creativity, technology, art, and STEM.
RenLUG brings LEGO® creativity and innovation to communities across Central Florida, including the greater Orlando metro area, through interactive building experiences, creative challenges, public exhibitions, STEM activities, and collaborative engineering programs.
Our programs range from hands-on building and creative experiences to sophisticated LEGO® systems incorporating trains, sensors, automation, and engineering. Members share their skills, ideas, and original creations while creating experiences that invite others to build, explore, learn, and participate.
Since 2019, RenLUG has documented 13,180+ community engagements across all programs combined.
Rooted in our founders’ own childhood experiences with LEGO® robotics and STEM, RenLUG’s youth outreach isn’t an add-on — it’s where we came from. That history continues to shape how we engage with schools, libraries, science centers, community organizations, and families today.
Our members bring together diverse interests and skills to create programs that connect building, technology, art, STEM, and community.
Our Approach
RenLUG programs are built around five areas:
BUILD — Original creations, collaborative builds, engineering, GBC, and RenRail
CONNECT — Bringing LEGO® fans, organizations, and communities together
ENGAGE — Interactive exhibits, building experiences, challenges, and public events
EDUCATE — STEM, robotics, engineering, and hands-on learning
SERVE — Supporting libraries, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations
Whether you’re looking for an interactive LEGO® experience, a STEM activity, a public exhibition, or an opportunity to bring builders and community together, RenLUG can help create an experience that fits your audience and event.
Signature Programs
RenLUG delivers a range of programs to communities across Central Florida — from gravity-powered STEM racing to large-scale collaborative engineering exhibits. Our programs serve students, families, scouts, libraries, schools, science centers, and the general public, bringing hands-on creativity and STEM learning to audiences of all ages.
🌎Ren Realms
RenLUG’s signature large-scale collaborative display program
Ren Realms bring together creations from multiple RenLUG members to create large-scale LEGO® worlds and collaborative environments around shared themes. Each realm has its own creative direction, building style, and visual identity, while modular designs allow individual creations and sections to be combined, rearranged, expanded, and reimagined for different exhibitions.
Some realms are developed as independent worlds, while others can connect with or be integrated into larger RenLUG display environments such as Ren City.
Current Ren Realms include:
- Renaissance Reimagined — Modular LEGO® castle and medieval world collaboration
- Ren City — Collaborative LEGO® city display program
- Spaceport 1999 — Vintage-inspired collaborative space display using authentic styling and parts limited to elements from the vintage sets that inspired it
- Ninjago District: Shattered Realms — A collaborative NINJAGO®-inspired display that can be integrated into Ren City or exhibited as a standalone world.

🏎️ Royal Rally Racing
Florida’s only LUG-operated gravity LEGO® racing STEM program
Launched in 2024 and expanded significantly in 2025, Royal Rally Racing is RenLUG’s signature bookable STEM program. Participants design and build gravity-powered LEGO® cars, then race them down RenLUG’s custom track while learning principles of engineering, physics, and iterative design. Fast, hands-on, and genuinely exciting for participants of all ages.
Designed for: Schools and homeschool groups, scout packs and troops, libraries and museums, community festivals, corporate and nonprofit events — all ages welcome.
To request: Royal Rally Racing is available to book for your school, library, scout program, festival, or community event.

⚙️ Great Ball Contraption (GBC)
Collaborative modular chain-reaction engineering exhibit
The Great Ball Contraption is one of LEGO® fandom’s most impressive collaborative engineering traditions — and RenLUG brings it to public events across Central Florida. A GBC is a modular chain-reaction machine built by multiple members, each contributing an independently designed module that passes a ball to the next. The result is a mesmerizing, endlessly looping engineering exhibit that demonstrates creativity, mechanical design, and the power of collaboration in a way that stops crowds in their tracks.
Designed for: Public event audiences, STEM enthusiasts, families, convention attendees — all ages. GBC is primarily an exhibition program rather than a bookable standalone event, and typically appears as part of larger RenLUG public events and conventions.
RenLUG’s GBC installations connect visitors to the systems thinking behind modern automation and AI.

RenRail: Intelligent Train Systems
Build the world. Automate the rails.
RenRail goes beyond the traditional LEGO® train layout. Members combine detailed LEGO® worlds and original MOCs with sensors, automation, programming, and interactive technology to design train systems that do more than simply run around a track.
From automated trains and sensor-controlled functions to RenRail Interactive, the program explores how LEGO® can be used to build, connect, control, and automate working systems. Members experiment with technology, solve engineering challenges, and bring their creations to life through responsive, interactive experiences.
LEGO® • Sensors • Automation • Interactive Technology
Build. Connect. Automate.
RenRail can stand on its own — or become part of a larger RenLUG world. In Ren Realms displays such as Ren City and other collaborative environments, RenRail can be integrated into the surrounding LEGO® world, adding trains, automation, sensors, and interactive elements to the display.
Designed for: Community events, libraries, museums, schools, STEM and engineering events, train shows, conventions, and other public or educational events.
To request: Organizations interested in bringing a RenRail LEGO® train layout or interactive train experience to their event are welcome to reach out.
