RenLUG – Central Florida’s LEGO® User Group

An inclusive adult LEGO® community for serious builders, creators, and collaborators — inspiring builders since 2019.

RenLUG brings Adult Fans of LEGO® (AFOLs) together to build, learn, and share — from personal MOCs to large-scale collaborative creations, public exhibitions, hands-on STEM programs for kids and families, and community partnerships across Central Florida.

Wherever we can, RenLUG puts bricks in people’s hands — not just on display. Our Play Brick Build Zone lets visitors free build or tackle creative challenges, while Royal Rally Racing has kids — and more than a few adults — designing and racing their own LEGO® gravity cars.

RenLUG serves the greater Orlando metro region — core membership in Seminole, Orange & Lake Counties, with programs and events spanning nine counties and 9,500+ square miles across Central Florida. See our full service area →

Space Port 1999

One Theme. One Year. Built to Spec.

Overview

Space Port 1999 is RenLUG’s tribute to one of the most focused LEGO® releases in Town theme history — the 1999 Space Port subtheme. Sixteen sets. One year. A complete world of launchpads, mission control rooms, lunar rovers, fuel trucks, satellites, and astronauts, anchored by the iconic Mission Control (set 6456).

Every MOC in the display is built using only parts found in the original 1999 Space Port sets. Modern mold variations of period-correct parts are permitted. Everything else is off the table. The constraint isn’t a limitation — it’s the point.

Display Parameters

  • Theme: LEGO® Space Port (Town subtheme, 1999)
  • Part restriction: Original 1999 Space Port elements only – same part/same color
  • Mold variants: Modern mold variations permitted
  • Color palette: White, grey, black, blue, yellow, red
  • Minifigures: Captain Jerry Walker, Flex Combo, Navigator Eena Orbit, and crew

The Rail Systems

Two trains run in Spaceport 1999. Both are audience-interactive.

The Railway Express (set 4561) — LEGO®’s 1999 9V blue and white high-speed consist — runs inside the display, connecting the launch complex, mission control, and the station platform. Period-correct and self-contained within the realm.

RenRail / RenRail Interactive and it’s variety of trains circles the outer perimeter of Spaceport 1999, connecting this realm to the rest of Ren City and the wider Ren Realms universe. The regional network that runs through every realm — this is where it passes through 1999.

Part of Ren Realms

Spaceport 1999 is one of the Realms in the RenLUG shared display universe. It occupies its own footprint at events, its own aesthetic, and its own rule set. Connected to Ren City through the RenRail perimeter line — distinct from everything around it by design.
