Local Enough to Build Together
Empowering Creativity Across Central Florida
RenLUG’s geographic structure is intentional.
Our core membership area is concentrated in the greater Orlando metro region so members can meet regularly, build together, collaborate on projects, attend events, and develop genuine local friendships.
At the same time, RenLUG brings LEGO® programs, exhibitions, and community activities to a much wider Central Florida region.
Three core membership counties. Six extended outreach counties. A growing community beyond them.
RenLUG Central Florida LEGO® User Group’s core membership is centered in the greater Orlando metro region, with active outreach and programming extending across a nine-county Central Florida service area. Our membership also extends beyond that service area, including Regional Member Outposts and members in other communities.
Our local focus is intentional. Florida is a large state — large enough that no single LEGO® fan community can maintain a genuine neighborhood feel across all of it. RenLUG’s three-county core keeps meetings accessible, travel times reasonable, and our programs responsive to the specific communities we serve. That community-rooted identity is what makes RenLUG feel like a local group, not just a regional one.
That local core sits within a broader footprint that might surprise people unfamiliar with Florida’s geography. Our nine-county service area spans more than 9,500 square miles — larger than the entire state of New Hampshire, and approaching the size of Vermont. Within that area, communities can be an hour or more apart even within the same metro region. Scale like that isn’t a reason for one group to stretch thin trying to cover everything — it’s a reason for strong, locally-rooted communities to grow where they’re planted.
RenLUG believes in collaboration, not competition. We actively work alongside fellow Florida LEGO® groups including Brick Ladies of Tampa Bay, North Florida LUG, South Florida LUG, Tampa Bay LUG and we’re proud to partner with Deaf Brick That! — a worldwide LEGO® fan community serving the Deaf and hard of hearing — reflecting our commitment to making LEGO® creativity welcoming and accessible to everyone. Together we support each other’s events and share the goal of growing the hobby across Florida and beyond. A thriving local community in Central Florida doesn’t take anything away from the broader LEGO® ecosystem — it strengthens it. The LEGO® hobby is big enough, and Florida certainly is, for everyone to build together.
Since 2019, RenLUG has documented 13,180+ direct community engagements across our nine-county, 9,500+ square mile service area — a number that grows every year.
Our Geographic Structure
RenLUG’s nine-county Central Florida service area consists of three Core Membership Counties and six Extended Outreach Counties. Beyond that service area, Regional Member Outposts recognize established member communities, while our Wider Community includes members and connections farther afield.

Focusing on just the cities and counties in the Orlando Metro Area makes meetings and transportation to events more convenient and accessible for our members.

RenLUG actively delivers programs and public events across six additional neighboring counties. Partner venues, STEM outreach, public exhibitions, and community events bring RenLUG’s programs to residents throughout this wider Central Florida region.

Regional Member Outposts
RenLUG’s community extends beyond our nine-county Central Florida service area.
Regional Member Outposts recognize established communities where multiple active RenLUG members live outside our regular service area.
These members remain part of the RenLUG community even when they live farther away. Some travel to Central Florida for meetings, events, exhibitions, conventions, and collaborative projects, while members in some areas may also organize informal local get-togethers.
Florida counties beyond our nine-county service area where RenLUG has an established membership presence, with at least three currently active RenLUG members residing in the county.
These counties reflect members who live beyond our nine-county service area but have chosen to stay connected to RenLUG. While we don’t run regular programming or events in these areas, these members remain an active part of the community — traveling into Central Florida to take part in meetings, events, and activities, and occasionally organizing informal local get-togethers within their region.

Wider Community: Beyond Central Florida
RenLUG’s community isn’t limited by county lines.
Our Wider Community includes members who have moved away but remain connected to RenLUG, as well as LEGO® enthusiasts, collaborators, and fellow builders from other communities.
While RenLUG’s meetings, programs, exhibitions, and outreach are centered in Central Florida, members farther away can stay connected through online community spaces, virtual participation, conventions, and in-person activities whenever they are able to join us.
You don’t have to live in our core area to be part of the RenLUG community.
RenLUG’s membership and community extends beyond our Core, Extended Outreach, and Regional Member Outpost areas. This includes members who have moved away but remain connected to RenLUG, as well as LEGO enthusiasts and collaborators from other communities and LUGs who have become part of ours. While our meetings, displays, and outreach efforts are centered in Central Florida, members of our Wider Community stay connected through virtual participation, online community spaces, conventions, and in-person activities whenever they’re able to join us.
